Northern Edge Studio
Northern Edge Studio is an Adelaide architecture practice led by architect, principal and owner Paul Cooksey, offering architectural and interior solutions for new homes, alterations and renovations, and heritage projects. Its designs are informed by "the elegant, sophisticated, textural quality" of mid-century architecture, respecting a culture of design where less is more and texture and tone are celebrated.
The studio blends cultural touchstones with sustainable building methods and energy efficiency, including 'passive house' design, for better functioning, longer lasting and healthier homes. It sees collaboration and good communication between clients, trades and designers as the cornerstone of every project.
On Lunchbox, Poppy's House restores a damp, cold and leaking 1967 modernist home in Mitcham with a restrained hand, making it comfortable without sacrificing what makes it special. Sunset Villa reimagines a 300-square-metre villa in the Adelaide foothills to celebrate the golden age of 1970s Hollywood, inspired by the owner's eclectic art collection.
