Baracco and Wright Architects

Baracco + Wright Architects is the Melbourne practice of architects Mauro Baracco and Louise Wright, based in Collingwood on Wurundjeri land. Their homes on Lunchbox show two very different sides of the practice, but both are about how a house meets its surroundings.

Garden House is the architects' own holiday shack in Victoria's Western Port, built for just $60,000. With virtually transparent walls, a decked floor set back from them and a garden filling the rest, it's the most basic, minimal of shelters: "It isn't really a house, but more a kind of semipermanent tent." Rose House 2 in Fitzroy North, overlooking Edinburgh Gardens, looks like a single home but is really two: a three-bedroom house for the parents and a two-bedroom home for their adult children, cleverly fitted onto a tricky triangular corner site.

With Translucent Walls This Minimal Home Melts into the Landscape

The most minimal house you could imagine - a platform for living within a translucent shell, set in a beautiful natural landscape.

It Might Look Like a Single Home, But Looks Can Be Deceiving

A home for a couple and a separate home for their adult children. Plus it's on a very public, very tricky triangular site!
