Bastian Architecture

Bastian Architecture was formed in 2014 by director Jo Bastian, a registered architect in New South Wales, and works throughout the state with a focus on Sydney and Newcastle. It's a small, enthusiastic practice with experience across new houses, alterations and additions, heritage, public buildings and fit-outs, and its size means a personalised service tailored to each project, budget and idea. Jo started the practice to focus "in equal parts on architectural design, the client's budget and the desire to be creative an innovative with each project."

On Lunchbox, Brick House reworks an inner-city worker's cottage in Sydney, extending a remnant brick wall with reclaimed bricks and weaving new brickwork through the addition to bring texture, colour and a sense of history. The Balcony in Newtown adds a new level to a corner terrace that acts like a big balcony, helping the home reconnect with the lively community around it.
