Blok Modular
Blok Modular is a Queensland team of architects and builders "who share a passion for human-centric design and construction innovation." They make custom prefabricated architecture, built as modules in a factory and delivered in under ten months. Their belief is that industrialised manufacturing can make good design more accessible, reducing the cost of housing while raising its quality, without compromising on design. Blok Belongil won a 2024 AIA NSW State Award and a 2024 Houses commendation.
Both of their Lunchbox projects were designed in collaboration with Vokes and Peters. Blok Belongil is a beach house in Byron Bay, prefabricated as six volumetric modules in a Brisbane factory, trucked to site and installed by a local builder. Blok Three Sisters is a trio of beach houses on North Stradbroke Island for three sisters with a lifetime of memories on the site, each with equal beach frontage and a central garden open to the sky.
