On Lunchbox, U House in Thornbury answers a tricky question: can you have a light-filled home with a south-facing backyard? A young family had outgrown their dark, constrained Edwardian home but loved their street too much to move. The renovation wraps new living spaces around a courtyard, with skylights and clerestory windows pulling in sunlight, to create a bright family home made for entertaining.
