Chris Elliott Architects

Chris Elliott Architects is a Sydney practice working across houses, urban design and public projects. Its homes include Seacliff House, Palm Tree House, River House and a house in Coffs Harbour, while its public work includes Walla Mulla Park and Bourke Street Park in Sydney, designed with Terragram. Seacliff House received a 2013 Institute of Architects commendation, and the parks won an Urban Design Award at the 2013 Sydney Design Awards.

On Lunchbox, Morrison House renovates a Sydney semi with a simple idea: a private timber box for the bedrooms sitting on top of a glass box for living. Small, dark rooms at the rear were demolished to make way for one large, airy space for living, dining and cooking. Two small steps down create a high ceiling and ease the connection to the back garden, and a staircase set across the original house keeps the new living area open.
