Circle Studio Architects

Circle Studio Architects is a design-focused, proudly female-owned practice in Melbourne's inner west, registered with the ARBV. It was "borne out of a desire to create thoughtful spaces with personality, and not being afraid to do things differently", and offers a fully personalised service from first sketch to final build. As they put it, "Homes are some of the most intimate spaces an architect can design, and we love creating unique environments that are respectful and reflective of the people who will live there."

Their three homes on Lunchbox are all in Melbourne's west and north. Apartment on Ballarat revamps a tired 1994 brick-veneer townhouse on the Maribyrnong River in Footscray. Green House Preston replaces a poorly planned lean-to on a weatherboard home with a new kitchen and living area for a client who lives alone, inspired by the tiled facades of local pubs. And Mischa's Place in Seddon knits old and new together, embracing the quirks of a much-loved weatherboard cottage.

A Revamp Turns Tired '90s Townhouse Into Bright and Welcoming Home

It's hard to believe 1994 was nearly 30 years ago, but this home was sure showing its age. No more thanks to a fun and bright revamp.

A home addition inspired by the tiled facades of pubs in the area!

For a client who lives alone, this renovation was about creating the perfect home for their lifestyle, not more space.

Marrying old and new leaves this renovation full of character

Old homes are full of character. By carefully marrying old and new in a renovation, you can retain some of that warmth and personality.
