Coy Yiontis Architects on Lunchbox Architect

Coy Yiontis Architects is a Melbourne architecture practice whose Lunchbox projects show homes shaped closely around the families who live in them, in the city and on the coast.

House 3 renovates and extends a partly two-storey Victorian weatherboard in Balaclava for an extended family of eight on a modest urban site. The street presence of the original house, badly disfigured over time, was restored, and the home divided into distinct old and new parts to fit a bedroom for each of four children, a parents' room, space for grandparents, generous living areas and a pool.

Humble House in Barwon Heads was designed for a couple leaving a grand heritage farmhouse in retirement. The new home is more manageable and contemporary, carries memories of their past life, and still has room for the children and grandchildren to visit comfortably.
