Curious Practice

Curious Practice is an architecture practice based on Hunter Street in Newcastle, on Awabakal Country. Its nominated architects are Warren Haasnoot and Greg Lee. The practice acknowledges the Awabakal and Worimi peoples as the traditional custodians of Muloobinba (Newcastle), and describes itself as "in a continuous process of learning and discovery" about the histories and experience of First Nations peoples, inviting its collaborators to join that journey.

On Lunchbox, Aru House reworks an early twentieth-century weatherboard cottage in Maryville. The old house had the familiar quirks – limited space at the back, a poor connection to its surroundings and a layout that no longer suited modern life – and the renovation and rear extension open it up to the garden and deck, with Australian hardwoods and battened screens.
