David Weir Architects

David Weir Architects is a boutique architecture studio in Mosman Park, Perth, led by principal David Weir. Its portfolio includes houses such as House Roux, East Fremantle House and Hammond Residence, along with Apartment House, Dave's Cans, The Old Crow and Light House for Mobilia.

On Lunchbox, The Exploding! Shed House is a compact home and studio built in the backyard of an inner Perth suburb for an illustrator with a punchy aesthetic. Using prefabricated elements, exposed structure, plywood and a metal roof, it shows that the back lanes of the city's older suburbs still offer affordable infill opportunities for young people priced out of the market.
