DM2 Architecture on Lunchbox Architect

DM2 Architecture is a Queensland architectural firm based in Paddington, Brisbane. It has served clients in South East and regional Queensland and interstate since it was established as Dimitriou Architects in 1981, launching as DM2 Architecture in 2007. Its work spans bespoke homes and multi-dwelling units, hospitality and retail, education and research facilities, and commercial and community projects.

The practice describes its approach as "purpose-driven creativity", focusing on "innovative and collaborative design" and on understanding each client's needs and functional objectives to reach "elegant, practical solutions across various scales and complexities."

On Lunchbox, Tennis Avenue Residence adds a new timber pavilion to the rear of a humble 1920s cottage in a quiet Brisbane street. It embraces the historical significance of hoop pine in Brisbane's subtropical landscape and weaves around a substantial hoop pine on the site, respecting the scale, form and materials of its neighbours.
