Dominique Ng

Dominique Ng is a Melbourne architect who worked with Tim Hill of Tandem Design Studio on Kensington Lighthouse.

The narrow, 160-square-metre Kensington site is squeezed beside a former factory and overshadowed by a four-metre-high wall to the north – a problem that led others to write it off. Dominique and Tim saw potential instead, and developed curved "sun shells" in the roof that catch light and reflect it deep into the home. With clerestory windows, a mezzanine and a courtyard, the house makes the most of a difficult small block.
