Durack Architects

Durack Architects is a Sydney architecture practice based in Bronte, led by nominated architect Luke Durack. It works on house renovations, new houses and medium-density housing such as duplexes, and offers planning checks to help clients understand what they can build before they commit.

"At the beginning of a project, it is normal to have more questions than answers," the practice says. Its role is to bring together what isn't working, a client's ideas and their budget, and guide them through "a clear and considered design process" that responds to the way they live and the character of the site.

On Lunchbox, Graffiti House transforms an old clothing warehouse in St Peters into a modern, light-filled home. The design avoids the cold, cavernous feel warehouses can have, while keeping the raw industrial aesthetic the owner loved, with a courtyard, double-height spaces and exposed steel.
