On Lunchbox, Buxton Rise is a pared-back country home near the Cathedral Range State Park, just outside Buxton in Victoria. "The site is unique and beautiful and so it was important to site and design the new building to protect and enhance this natural landscape," explains architect Martin Rubenstein. A glass-walled, north-facing living area takes in the views, while a sleeping zone to the south is more enclosed, with warm, natural materials acting as a backdrop to the landscape.
