Freckle Architecture

Freckle Architecture is an architecture and interiors studio based in Ocean Grove on the Bellarine Peninsula, led by architect Shinae. The practice focuses on tailored design and documentation for residential projects, from renovations to new homes, in towns such as Ocean Grove, Point Lonsdale and Barwon Heads.

Freckle partners with both the client and the builder to make construction "smooth" and "stress-free", and builders who have worked with the studio praise its attention to detail and care for clients.

On Lunchbox, Lockington Lodge is a holiday home on Wadawurrung Country that turns a tapered block flanked by two banks of established Moonah trees – a hallmark of the Bellarine – into a design opportunity rather than a constraint, with clerestory windows, timber cladding and a warm, colourful interior.

Instead of seeing the trees as a problem, they did this instead…

This beach house wraps around majestic Moonah trees, blending home with nature.
