Grant Maggs Architects on Lunchbox Architect

Grant Maggs Architects is a Melbourne architecture practice. Its Lunchbox project, New House, is a modern interpretation of the beach shack, designed as a weekender on the Mornington Peninsula.

The site, in a Blairgowrie backstreet, came with mature tea tree, a comfortable slope and a short walk to the front beach and shops. The brief called for a holiday home for the clients and their two children most weekends, with room for one or sometimes two extra families. An efficient floor plan meets those needs while creating strong visual and physical links between inside and out, with decks, a garden and a pool.
