Herriot Melhuish O’Neill Architects

Herriot Melhuish O'Neill Architects is a New Zealand architecture practice. Its Lunchbox project, Peka Peka House, is a new home perched on a hill above Peka Peka Beach.

The house is made of three simple boxes in a clever arrangement around a courtyard. Set on a steep coastal site with rural surroundings, it combines timber cladding with cross ventilation, solar power and a high-performance envelope.

It is one of those New Zealand homes that makes the most of the country's incredible landscapes – the kind of house that leaves Australians a little jealous.
