On Lunchbox, Gresham Street House is the Brisbane home of director Daniel Hudson, who lived in it for six years before reworking it. The brick house was built in the Queenslander style but without the verandahs and climate response that make Queenslanders work. "It was around the wrong way," Daniel explains, so the renovation reconfigured the layout without moving any walls, kept the existing masonry to reduce waste, and added new spaces around it – including a study and bedroom beneath the house – that deal passively with the subtropical climate and reconnect the home to the backyard.
