Jesse Bennett on Lunchbox Architect
Jesse Bennett Studio is an architecture and interior design practice established in 2013 by architect Jesse Bennett and interior designer Anne-Marie Campagnolo. A small practice offering a focused, personal process, it works along Australia's east coast from Far North Queensland to Victoria, with studios in Fitzroy, Melbourne and Federal in northern New South Wales. Its work, from homes to luxury commercial projects, combines "the practical with the poetic and the familiar with the unexpected", and it won the Australian Institute of Architects' Robin Boyd Award in 2015.
On Lunchbox, Planchonella House is a raw, honest home set in tropical rainforest in Far North Queensland. Designed to create "a series of joyful spaces", it uses experimental passive design and low-tech methods, with concrete profiles that follow the contours of the ridgeline and minimal walls that open to uninterrupted views.
