Jessica Hardwick Architecture

Jessica Hardwick Architecture is a Brisbane practice led by architects Jess Hardwick, the director, and senior associate Steph Danslow, who bring more than 25 years of combined experience at leading Brisbane practices. The team specialises in sustainable design, new homes and renovations, multi-residential work such as duplexes and apartments, and commercial projects "with heart", including early learning centres and community facilities.

"We believe quality spaces form a backdrop for quality of life," the practice says, and its personalised, collaborative process aims to understand each client's values, brief and site.

On Lunchbox, Hardwick Family Home is Jess's own renovation of a 1959 parkside house in Geebung. Rather than expanding the footprint, the design makes better use of the existing space for a growing family, keeping its mid-century charm with terrazzo, brass and Australian hardwoods while improving insulation and cross ventilation.
