John McAuley Architecture
John McAuley Architecture is a Gippsland practice working from a studio in Bunyip, established in 2010 by registered architect John McAuley. It specialises in residential, public and commercial design, with projects ranging from country houses to Howler Brewery.
"The starting point for every project is the same: we listen," the practice says. No project begins with a preconceived look; instead, the design grows from understanding the client's needs and a careful analysis of the site, explored through hand sketches and multiple options.
On Lunchbox, Ramsar Fields is a modern Australian farmhouse overlooking the Gippsland Lakes, set in a 75-acre paddock, its bird-like plan stretching out to capture views while managing wind and grassfire risk. Soulsbly Residence III is a new home for a family of five downsizing from their farm that keeps the privacy, sun and views they loved.
