LTD Architectural Design Studio

LTD Architectural Design Studio, also known as LTD Architectural Services, is a New Zealand design practice with studios in Auckland and Nelson, working on projects across the country. Founded by Joseph Long in 2008 and now led by directors Joseph Long and David Maurice, it offers a full service from concept to completion across new homes, alterations and commercial fit-outs, with a speciality in coastal and rural design.

The studio's aim is "designing right for people, place and planet": homes that are beautiful, efficient and affordable, and that integrate seamlessly with their environment. Its process starts with listening to find out what really matters to each client.

On Lunchbox, Back Country House takes full advantage of a secluded, bushy site. Inspired by the back country hut, it has one main space for living, cooking and eating, plus a lean-to annexe for services and sleeping, all opening to one another and to a deck with a fire and two outdoor baths.

A Home Built Around Connection With Each Other and the Landscape

With open-plan living and shared sleeping areas all opening onto the outdoors, this is a home to connect with nature and each other.
