Mártires Doyle Architects

Mártires Doyle Architects is a Melbourne architecture practice based in North Melbourne.

Its Lunchbox project, Split End House, is a renovation and extension of an old workers cottage on a narrow Northcote site with a south-facing backyard. The rear addition balances a good connection to the garden with keeping as much of the backyard as possible, and solves the problem of light with a cranked roofline that scissors to form a series of triangular windows, letting in direct sunlight and framing views of the sky.
