m3architecture

m3architecture is a Brisbane practice, established in 1997 and based in Petrie Terrace, that describes itself as "architects of choice for brilliant ideas". Led by directors Michael Banney, Michael Christensen, Michael Lavery, Ben Vielle, Jonathan Goh and Elan Barr, its team of 28 works across all scales and sectors, building on each client's culture "with architecture that surprises".

The practice is ideas-driven, evaluates all new projects against its aspiration to mitigate climate breakdown, and is a signatory to Architects Declare. Its work includes the Tree of Knowledge Memorial in Barcaldine, Queensland, created with Brian Hooper, as well as projects for Brisbane Girls Grammar School and the University of Sydney's Women's College.

On Lunchbox, Cape Tribulation Home is an off-grid house near the beach in the Daintree Rainforest. Set in a natural clearing so no mature trees were removed, it is camouflaged in black cladding and mirrored glass, naturally ventilated, and threaded by a path and a continuous white rope that leads from the road through the rainforest to the beach.
