Matthew Woodward Architecture on Lunchbox Architect

Matthew Woodward Architecture, now Woodward Architects, is a Sydney practice based in Balgowlah and led by principal Matthew Woodward. Since 2013 it has helped clients bring their architectural visions to life, from lively suburbs to peaceful rural locations, with place as a close collaborator that influences its approach and inspires a material language.

The practice aims to "create architecture that delights people, evolves our practice, and serves human communities and the natural environment", connecting people with nature in everyday life and leaving a positive legacy for generations to come. While it has a strong residential focus, its team has worked on offices, shops, bars and restaurants as well as cultural, industrial and mixed-use projects.

On Lunchbox, Wirra Willa Pavilion is a Miesian-inspired glass guest pavilion on an 80-acre rural property, once a stone and citrus fruit orchard, cantilevering over a natural spring to take in the beauty of the landscape.
