mishack

mi shack is an architect-designed modular home system based in Witchcliffe, in Western Australia's Margaret River Region. It is built on MIDS, the Modular Integrated Design System created by architect Marcus Browne RAIA and refined since 2009 across real WA projects, using predefined planning modules that flip, slide and connect along a clear planning spine to suit coastal, rural, metro and regional sites.

Every mi shack starts from the same system, then becomes its own thing, shaped by its site, its owners and how it will be built. Homes have been built from Fremantle to Dunsborough, Yallingup and Esperance, and the practice offers a site feasibility service, Map iT, before design begins.

On Lunchbox, Clarke Shack is a holiday home that blends mid-century modern style with the Australian rural shed, White Shack is a laid-back but sophisticated retreat at Yallingup for a creative family, and McGunnigle Shack in Fremantle brings clean, crisp lines and low-pitched roofs to clients who love mid-century design.
