Muir Mendes Architects

Muir Mendes Architects is the Melbourne practice of architects Amy Muir and Bruno Mendes.

On Lunchbox, Law Street House in South Melbourne is the architects' own home, built with their own hands over three and a half years alongside full-time practice. It is constructed from a surprising material, plate steel. From the outside its dark, minimalist facade looks solid and secure, while inside a double-height light shaft and a glass-roofed corridor send shafts of sunlight dancing across the walls, making for a beautifully detailed home that plays with light.
