Multiplicity Architects

Multiplicity Architects is a Melbourne architecture practice based in Brunswick.

Its Lunchbox project, The Eagle, is a modern extension to a weatherboard cottage on a north-facing corner block in Brunswick that puts its timber stud work proudly on display. Translucent fibreglass lets light into the house while revealing the blurry outlines of the structure behind, a glimpse of the inherent beauty and repeating pattern of the home's 'bones', beneath raked ceilings with clerestory windows for light and cross ventilation.

The Eagle: A House That Proudly Displays Its Beautiful Bones

If a real estate agent tells you a house has 'good bones', it's rarely a good thing. The Eagle's bones (timber studs) are proudly on display. And they're not good; they're stunning.
