Open Studio Architecture is an ideas-based architectural practice, established in Melbourne in 2005.
On Lunchbox, Residence J&C is a semi-permanent home at Somers, more than a weekender, for a couple, their dog and occasional visitors. Sitting on top of a sand dune virtually on the beach, it takes in panoramic views across Western Port Bay. Residence R in Carlton shows how even the slightest alteration can have a dramatic impact, bringing natural light into a compact, character-filled home converted from a stable in the 1990s.
Residence AD&H in Flemington began as a conversation with a former client whose daughter's family had outgrown their small house. The solution links two neighbouring homes with an internal bridge, so the family can stay close while keeping their independence.
