Riddel Architecture on Lunchbox Architect
Riddel Architecture is a Queensland-based practice led by director Robert Riddel.
On Lunchbox, Hill End Ecohouse is a new home on a narrow riverfront site in Brisbane built largely from recycled materials, reusing 80 per cent of the salvaged material from the 1930s house that stood there before. A painstaking deconstruction left just two small skips of waste, additional materials were locally sourced and assessed for their sustainability credentials, and the finished home holds a 6-star energy rating and is self-sufficient. The practice set out to create the greenest home possible without compromising on style.
