Ross Brewin Architecture + Urbanism

Ross Brewin Architecture + Urbanism is the practice of architect Ross Brewin, who now works as part of Gilby + Brewin, an architecture practice with studios in Melbourne and Hobart. The practice undertakes culturally, socially and environmentally responsible projects across a range of urban scales and settings, from greenfields to post-industrial landscapes and from regional townships to dense inner-city areas.

It treats every project, even a new building, as a kind of renovation of an existing setting, beginning with careful observation, historical research and stakeholder engagement to produce deeply contextual architecture.

On Lunchbox, Suburban Beach House, designed with David Barr, combines an elevated Queenslander with the humble West Australian beach shack to create an affordable, laid-back family home in Perth's coastal suburbs.

Suburban Beach House: What Happens When You Cross a Queenslander with a West Australian?

No, it's not a Clive Palmer/Gina Rinehart franken-baby. It's a suburban beach house with a view.
