Roth Architects on Lunchbox Architect

Roth Architects is a Sydney architectural design studio established in 2005 and based in Woollahra. It helps growing families renovate and reuse existing spaces in innovative ways, links modern design with heritage-protected homes, and works with clients on rural and coastal retreats.

Director Alex Roth graduated in architecture with honours from UNSW and founded the practice in 2005. His aim for each project is functional design that doesn't compromise creativity, and his interest in heritage and conservation has led to terrace designs in Paddington, Woollahra and surrounding suburbs. The studio sums up its approach as 'a creative heart and practical head', designing projects for life and built to last.

On Lunchbox, Northbridge House 2 is a family home on Sydney's North Shore with a restrained street presence that opens at the rear and cascades down its sloping bush site, with refined timber detailing and large glass doors connecting inside and out.
