RTA Studio on Lunchbox Architect

RTA Studio is a New Zealand architecture practice founded in 1999 by Richard Naish after a career with leading practices in London and Auckland. It now has studios in Auckland, Hawke's Bay and Wānaka.

The practice focuses on exceptional design with a considered, personal service, working across public, commercial and urban design as well as sensitive residential projects, and it is drawn to projects that fit its values rather than their scale or budget. It is committed to a sustainable built environment. RTA Studio has received more than 100 NZIA awards and several international awards, including Home of the Year, four World Architecture Festival category wins and the New Zealand Architecture Medal, and Richard Naish was awarded the NZIA Gold Medal.

On Lunchbox, House for Five is a modern family home in an Auckland heritage neighbourhood that references its gabled neighbours without copying them, while Tawharanui House replaces an outgrown Lockwood kit home with three clustered buildings for several generations of one family.
