Sans-Arc Studio

Sans-Arc Studio is an "off-beat" architecture and interior design studio based on Kaurna Country in Adelaide, led by director and registered architect Matiya Marovich. Its name means "without architecture", and the studio makes fun and beautiful spaces that connect people to each other and to place, and is open to projects globally.

Sans-Arc believes good design is "the membrane that frames the world", creating opportunities for connection and curiosity. Delightfully unexpected, its projects blend function and freedom and invite individual interpretation, with a design culture steeped in inclusivity and social connection and a commitment to environmentally conscious, passive design. Its work spans homes, hospitality and retail, including a series of Gelato Messina stores.

On Lunchbox, 48 Carlisle rethinks what a modern Australian home should look and feel like, adding a clean, light-filled extension to a historic Adelaide house that uses passive design to work with the climate. Pix Residence creates a new living space for a young family, oriented to catch the winter sun.
