On Lunchbox, Beach Avenue House in Elwood fits a spacious family home onto an extremely small site. Designed almost like a piece of joinery, it combines concrete, hoop pine and tallowwood for a warm yet polished interior, while a translucent floor in the ground-level courtyard brings light into a flexible work and living space in the basement.
