Sean Godsell Architects
Sean Godsell Architects is a Melbourne practice whose body of work spans houses, galleries, schools, public buildings and pavilions, including RMIT Design Hub, an MPavilion, a chapel for the Vatican and hiker camps on the Grampians Peaks Trail. Sean Godsell has been awarded the Australian Institute of Architects' Gold Medal.
On Lunchbox, Tanderra House sits on a hilltop on a 40-hectare site on the Mornington Peninsula, continuing the practice's long exploration of the verandah as a way to organise space and shelter a house from strong prevailing winds while opening to distant ocean views. Edward Street House in Brunswick is full of hidden doorways, sliding walls and skylights along a long central corridor, and Green House adds a small addition with an inventive, light-giving roof to a heritage-listed timber cottage in inner Melbourne.
