Smith Architects

SMITH Architects is a small, boutique architectural design firm in Brisbane, with a presence in Byron Bay, established in 2007 by architect Stewart Smith. The practice has chosen to stay small so it can prioritise its clients and dedicate time to the creative process on every project.

Stewart worked across an eclectic range of project types and scales with leading practices before founding the firm, giving it experience in refined design, construction management and client collaboration. Acting as both architects and project managers, the team guides clients and builders through to the end of construction, working with trusted interior and landscape designers, builders, engineers, planners and certifiers. Its work includes new residences, renovations and extensions across Brisbane's suburbs and in Byron Bay.

On Lunchbox, Yeronga Renovation reorients and updates a 1980s Brisbane home for modern living, complete with an internal rock-climbing wall for a family of mountain-sports fans.
