On Lunchbox, Jacaranda House adds to a 1920s Ashgrovian-style Queenslander in Paddington, taking the traditional elements that make Queenslanders cool and breezy, such as shading, cross-ventilation and connection to the outdoors, and reinterpreting them for modern living. On a sloping site, the addition creates bright, naturally ventilated family living spaces with deep eaves, batten screens and large sliding doors, alongside a new studio and a fireplace for cooler months.
