Statkus Architecture

Statkus Architecture was founded in Northcote in 2008 and has been creating carefully curated, responsive homes ever since. Led by architect and director Ben Statkus, the practice works across Victoria and New South Wales on residential, mixed-use and multi-residential projects.

In a world of increasing sameness, it avoids fleeting fashion in favour of architecture that endures beyond the latest trends. Inspired by the natural world and the specifics of family, place and environment, its designs emphasise beauty, flexibility and purpose, balancing budget, comfort, practicality and beauty. The practice aims not only to create striking buildings but to improve lives and the built realm.

On Lunchbox, Calithornbury Bungalow extends a Californian bungalow in Thornbury, reusing salvaged materials from the demolition, while Around the Corner lifts a Northcote home from a 1.5-star to a 5.3-star energy rating.
