Strachan Group Architects
Strachan Group Architects (SGA) is an Auckland practice grounded in detailed, first-hand knowledge of construction. The team brings a highly developed sense of craft to creating sustainable buildings with precision and elegance, across residential, multi-residential, community and commercial work, alterations and interiors.
The practice pairs close attention to each client's brief with a rich understanding of site, the natural environment and the contexts in which a building must operate. It also has advanced experience in prefabrication and digitally controlled fabrication of building elements, and takes pride in communicating ideas with clients, consultants and contractors, a skill honed through extensive involvement in architectural education.
On Lunchbox, Studio 19 Bach and Studio 19 Community Housing come from Studio 19, a collaboration between SGA and the Unitec School of Architecture in which Dave Strachan and third-year students designed and built a small bach at Onemana and two community houses in Auckland.
