Studio Esteta
Studio Esteta is a Melbourne design practice that harnesses architecture and interior design in equal measure, working on residential and commercial projects. Its name comes from the Italian for 'aesthete', a person appreciative of and sensitive to beauty, and it aims to create buildings and spaces that celebrate aesthetic appeal through honest and sophisticated methods.
Founded in 2015 by directors Sarah Cosentino and Felicity Slattery, the studio believes beauty has many facets, often found in the subtle, bespoke details that set a design apart and evoke surprise and delight. It eschews trends in favour of a considered, tailored approach, leading to contemporary designs of a refined and timeless nature.
On Lunchbox, Brunswick East House gives a young family the open-plan kitchen, ensuite and extra storage they wanted within their existing single-storey weatherboard home, by reworking an inefficient floor plan instead of extending.
