Sunlight & Shelter on Lunchbox Architect

Sunlight & Shelter is the residential architecture practice of Brodie Norris, a registered architect in Victoria, New South Wales and Western Australia and a member of the Australian Institute of Architects and ArchiTeam.

The practice works with homeowners on renovations, extensions and new houses, with a focus on Melbourne's inner west — Williamstown, Newport, Spotswood, South Kingsville and Yarraville — as well as Coburg and regional Victoria and NSW, including Echuca, Moama and Mildura.

Approach

"A home shouldn't announce itself. It should simply be felt." The work starts with the fundamentals: natural light, shelter, orientation and the way one space flows into the next.

Brodie set up the practice to be an independent advocate for homeowners making big housing decisions, without the sales pressure. That means plain language, an honest read on whether a project stacks up, and staying involved from the first conversation through to completion.
