Topology Studio

Topology Studio is a creative architectural practice in Albert Park, Melbourne, founded in 2012 by directors Amy Hallett and Darren Kaye, with projects in Victoria and interstate. Its work spans residential, multi-residential, hospitality and public projects, largely in coastal and heritage contexts in urban and rural locations, and has been widely published.

The directors bring a combined 50 years of experience with complex and unique briefs. The practice's designs are informed by each site's landscape and climate, combining a design-intensive approach with robust, process-driven architecture. Sustainability is integral: materials and services are chosen for longevity and their environmental and social impact, with opportunities sought for adaptive reuse and recycled, vintage and locally sourced materials.

On Lunchbox, South Melbourne Beach House turns a run-down, heritage-listed cottage just metres from the beach into a light-filled, airy beach house only two kilometres from the city.
