BAA House + BAA Studio

BAA House + BAA Studio is a Queensland design practice working from Manly and Brisbane, led by architect Claus Ejlertsen. BAAHOUSE specialises in small to medium-sized homes, including second dwellings and granny flats, offering pre-designed plans that are customised to each site and designed for the Australian climate. Alongside it, BAASTUDIO creates custom-designed new homes and renovations to suit each site and lifestyle, and BAA Interiors helps clients create inviting spaces that enhance the way they live.

The practice aims to make every small home aesthetic, functional and enjoyable to live in, tailored to both site and budget.

On Lunchbox, Samford Valley Small House is a two-bedroom granny flat tucked into a hilly corner of a family property 21 kilometres from Brisbane. The brief was for "a small, tropical, modern house that utilises the steep site", and large open decks make the compact home feel spacious while connecting it to a lush subtropical garden.
