Doherty Design Studio
Studio Doherty, formerly Doherty Design Studio, is a Melbourne interior design practice creating tailored residential, commercial, retail, workplace and hospitality interiors. It won Best Residential Interior at the 2025 Dulux Colour Awards.
The team draws on its breadth of experience to deliver "delightfully detailed, distinctive outcomes characterised by clarity, honesty and just the right amount of kooky". Its contemporary interiors aim to honour the diversity, vibrancy and eclecticism of Australia's architectural heritage, and colour is central, sometimes bold and brave, sometimes subtle, but always tied to the architecture and the people who live there. Services span spatial planning, interior design for new builds and renovations including bespoke joinery, documentation, and the curation of art, furniture and objects, and many projects are collaborations with architects.
On Lunchbox, Neville Street Residence with Chan Architecture opens up a narrow heritage terrace in Middle Park, keeping the front rooms intact and adding a full-width living, dining and kitchen area concealed from the street.
