Akin Atelier
Akin Atelier describes itself as a spatial communications practice of architects, interior designers and strategists, working on retail, hospitality, commercial and residential projects around the world. Based in Surry Hills in Sydney, their portfolio is packed with shops, bars and restaurants, from Coogee Pavilion and Club Rose Bay to stores for Camilla and Marc and bassike, alongside homes such as Gunnamatta House and Askill House.
Cloud House in Bondi is one of those homes, and it's about as close as you can get to living in the clouds. From the street it gives little away: the upper floor cantilevers over a carport, and timber screens and playful circular openings keep things private. Step inside via the side of the house and it opens up around a central courtyard, filling the home with fresh air and bright natural light.

Designed Around a Central Courtyard, This Home Maximises Light
With numerous facets to bounce light around the home, Cloud House feels like living in a cloud surrounded by beautiful, diffused light.
