Barbara Appollini Architect

Barbara Appolloni is an architect and interior design studio based in Barcelona. Her work covers homes and shops, "combining functionality, aesthetics and maximizing the potential of spaces on multiple scales, including the smallest." Alongside residential projects such as the Shoebox House, she has designed supermarkets, bars and restaurants, including the Federal Café Parlament in Barcelona, with projects in Spain, Italy, Switzerland and France.

On Lunchbox, Lego Apartment is the project that made her name, with more than 30 million visits online. It's a 24-square-metre micro apartment in Barcelona's Born district that's little more than an empty shell until its owner rearranges the modules to cook, dress, sleep, eat or entertain. Inspired by the space-saving furniture of boats and caravans and the minimal lines of Japanese homes, it feels surprisingly spacious for its size.

Lego Apartment: Watch As This Micro Apartment is Rearranged Like Lego

This micro apartment is like an empty shell - to cook, dress, sleep, eat or entertain you have to rearrange modules and 'build' a new space. It's like lego!
