Design Office

DesignOffice is an architecture and design studio in Collingwood, Melbourne, "creating human-centred spaces which are emotionally resonant and contribute to everyday life." Its collaborative team works on projects across Australia and internationally, from hotels, restaurants and health clubs to showrooms, workplaces and townhouses.

The studio values strong, lasting client relationships, and says its design responses "are borne from a deep understanding of the client brief and crafted around the needs of the end user."

On Lunchbox, Goldfields House is a small, 100-square-metre home in Victoria's goldfields that was "conceived from the dining table up." It is modest in size but can easily host eight people for dinner and overnight, with the kitchen open to the table and an upholstered conversation pit alongside – "a house of openness and conviviality."
