Ellivo Architects

Ellivo Architects is a Brisbane architecture studio working across a wide range of projects and scales: homes and townhouses, multi-residential and build-to-rent apartments, aged care and retirement living, social and affordable housing, hotels, cafes, clubs, retail and workplace fit-outs.

The studio says there is "no distinct style at Ellivo" – each outcome comes from its design process and its focus on how people will experience a space. It believes "buildings must be good citizens", with sustainable design starting from day one, and makes sure an owner of the practice is actively involved in every project.

On Lunchbox, Paddington Residence is the home that principal Mason Cowle designed for his own family: a "rigorously contemporary" house in a historic neighbourhood that fits in through a palette of quality raw materials inside and out, on a sloping laneway site.

This modern home in an historic neighbourhood was designed by an architect as a home for him and his family.
