Green Sheep Collective
Green Sheep Collective is a Melbourne residential architecture firm that describes itself as "environmentally conscious, ethical, and community minded". Led by director Shae Parker McCashen, it brings "sustainable design expertise, flexibility, and fun" to the design and construction of homes, and aims to produce houses "that have minimal impact upon the earth, contribute positively to their context, and enrich the lives of their inhabitants."
The practice treats design as an open dialogue, listening to how clients intend to live in their home to resolve complex requirements into functional, beautiful spaces.
On Lunchbox, Smart Home adds open-plan living to a heritage home in Seddon, stacking a mezzanine above the pantry and study nook within a cathedral ceiling. The Snug transforms a dark, poorly insulated Californian bungalow into a comfortable, energy-efficient home for a couple, adding a bedroom and bathroom without sacrificing the garden.
